I lived on Murchison Road, Leyton, only eight terraced streets north of here. I knew the M11 link road, fume-filled, noisy, passing over its footbridge, already tired, with a pushchair, these so-familiar houses long erased. Blight makes a musical from the destruction of buildings, of memories, of what progress means.
