Today’s post includes a playlist I’ve made to see you through this wet, windy Friday (I’m going to start doing more of these, because it gives me pleasure to do them too).
I thought about it this morning because I’ve been thinking about Pulp, who I saw on Wednesday night at the Cardiff International Arena. They were glorious, Jarvis throwing sweets and grapes for the audience to catch, his poses more seedy Eric Morecambe than ever before; Nick and Mark looking like friendly plumbers rather than pop stars; Candida stabbing her keys in a golden sequinned pencil skirt, and Julian House’s amazing pink neon artwork shining and pulsing behind them, looking simultaneously 1970s and 1990s but also, somehow, 2023.
